The Developer does not operate user accounts, cloud databases, analytics servers, or advertising networks. By default, your study decks, flashcards, attached images, listening documents, and review history remain exclusively on your device. --- ## 2. Information Stored Locally on Your Device To provide its core features, Rememora stores the data you create or import locally inside the Application's private storage area on your device (a local SQLite database and private application files on mobile and desktop platforms, or browser-isolated storage on Web): - **Decks and Flashcards:** Deck titles, descriptions, tags, card fronts and backs, Cloze deletions, extra notes, typing validation rules, and Markdown or LaTeX expressions. - **Card Media:** Images you attach from your device or cache from external image URLs. - **Spaced-Repetition Progress and Statistics:** Your FSRS (Free Spaced Repetition Scheduler) memory state, difficulty and stability parameters, review timestamps, ratings (Again, Hard, Good, Easy), daily study streaks, and retention statistics. - **Hands-Free Listening Documents:** Text documents you import for spoken study (`.txt`, `.md`, `.docx`), together with your playback position and narrator language selection. - **Application Preferences:** Selected interface language, visual theme, daily reminder schedule, Memo companion visibility, and text-to-speech voice, speed, and pause preferences. - **Local Diagnostic Log:** A size-bounded technical log stored on your device that records local operational events and error codes without including your flashcard text or personal notes. We have **no remote access** to any of this locally stored information. --- ## 3. Optional Network Connections and User-Initiated Transfers Rememora does not transmit your personal data or study content to any server in the background. Network requests occur only in the following specific, user-initiated situations: ### 3.1. Curated Decks Catalogue (Explore) When you open the **Explore** section or choose to preview or download a curated deck, the Application connects over HTTPS to the static catalogue endpoint (`https://rememora-curated-decks.vercel.app`) to retrieve the read-only deck list and the selected deck package. - No user account, device identifier, study history, or user-created deck is uploaded in these requests. - Standard HTTP request metadata (such as your IP address and technical user-agent headers) is processed transiently by the static hosting infrastructure solely to deliver the requested files over TLS/HTTPS. - Once a curated deck is added to your library, it is stored locally on your device so you can study it completely offline. ### 3.2. External Card Images If you create or import a flashcard that references an external `https://` image URL, your device requests that image directly from the third-party host named in the URL and caches a copy locally on your device for offline study. Built-in flag illustrations used by curated decks are served from local application assets without making network requests. ### 3.3. Deck Import, Deck Export, and Diagnostic Export Rememora lets you import and export decks (`.json`, `.csv`, `.tsv`, `.txt`, `.md`, or `.apkg`) and export the local diagnostic log using your operating system's native file picker or share sheet. Exported files are saved or shared only where you explicitly choose. If you choose to email an exported diagnostic report to `support@gonzaloapps.es`, we will use the information you send solely to assist you with your support request and will delete it once the issue is resolved. --- ## 4. Device Permissions and Platform Services Rememora requests only the permissions required for the features you choose to use: - **Notifications (`POST_NOTIFICATIONS` / Local Notifications):** Used exclusively to schedule and display local study reminders on your device when you enable Daily Reminders in Settings. Notification scheduling runs locally on your device, not through remote push servers. - **Boot Completed (`RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED` on Android):** Used by the local notification plugin so your device can restore scheduled local study reminders after a reboot. - **Text-to-Speech (TTS):** Uses the speech synthesis engine installed on your operating system to read flashcards and listening documents aloud on your device. - **File and Media Selection:** Uses your operating system's native document selector or photo picker when you import a deck, import a listening document, attach an image to a card, or save an exported file. Rememora accesses only the individual files you explicitly select. --- ## 5. No Tracking, Analytics, or Advertising - **No Analytics or Telemetry:** Rememora contains no third-party analytics, crash-reporting, or behavioral tracking SDKs. - **No Advertising:** Rememora displays no advertisements and never shares data with advertising networks or data brokers. - **No Profiling or Sale of Data:** We never sell, rent, or trade user data. --- ## 6. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR) To the limited extent that any technical data is processed when you download a curated deck or contact support, processing is based on: - **Performance of a service requested by you (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR):** Delivering the application features and curated deck downloads you initiate. - **Consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR):** Granting optional device permissions such as local notifications, or voluntarily sending a support email. --- ## 7. Data Retention, Deletion, and Your Rights Because your data resides on your device, you have direct and immediate control over it at all times: - **Delete Individual Items:** You can edit or delete any flashcard, deck, attached image, or listening document directly within the Application. - **Factory Reset:** You can erase all decks, flashcards, images, listening documents, study history, and settings at once by selecting **Settings > Data Management > Factory Reset** inside the Application. - **Uninstallation:** Uninstalling Rememora from your device (or clearing site storage in your browser) permanently deletes the local database and all associated application files stored on that device. Under the GDPR and LOPDGDD, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection. Because we do not hold copies of your local data on any server, these rights are exercised directly on your device through the tools above.
